Pet Stain & Odor Removal

Pet Stain & Odor Removal in Gilbert, Mesa & the East Valley

Pet accidents happen in every home with a dog or cat. The problem is that urine doesn't stay on top of the carpet. It soaks into the backing and the pad, and that's where the smell comes from. Our enzyme pet treatment breaks down the urine that causes the odor instead of covering it up, and for the worst spots we can flush it out of the pad.

Why the smell comes back

Pet odor lives under the carpet

When a pet has an accident, the urine wicks down through the carpet fibers into the backing and the pad underneath. Surface cleaning makes the spot look better, but the urine left below keeps breaking down and giving off that ammonia smell.

Arizona makes it worse. The salts left behind by dried urine pull moisture out of the air, so old spots that seemed fine all spring can start to smell again when monsoon humidity rolls in. Pets can smell it too, which is why they keep going back to the same spot.

Store-bought sprays and shampoos usually mask the odor or leave a sticky residue that attracts more dirt. To get rid of the smell for good, the urine itself has to be broken down or removed.

What to do right now

The first few minutes make a big difference. Here's what we tell our customers:

  1. Blot, don't rub. Press paper towels or an old towel into the spot to soak up as much as you can. Rubbing spreads it and pushes it deeper.
  2. Rinse with a little cool water and blot again. Don't soak the spot. Too much water carries the urine further into the pad.
  3. Skip the heavy sprays and shampoos. Scented products cover the smell for a day, and soapy residue can leave a spot that attracts dirt.
  4. Keep your pet off the spot until it's treated. If they can still smell it, they'll likely go back to it.
  5. Don't wait too long. Fresh accidents are much easier to get out than urine that has sat and soaked into the pad for weeks.

FAQs

Pet stain & odor questions

Can you get rid of pet urine odor in carpet?

In most homes, yes. Our enzyme pet treatment breaks down the urine that causes the smell, and for heavy spots our sub-surface extraction flushes it out of the pad. Every job is backed by our spot and odor guarantee.

Is pet treatment included with carpet cleaning?

Yes. Basic pet treatment and deodorizing is included with every carpet cleaning at no extra charge. Only severe spots that need sub-surface extraction cost extra, and we always give you that price before we start.

Will the stain come out completely?

Most pet spots come out or lighten a lot. Urine that has sat for a long time can permanently change the color of the carpet fibers, so some old stains may not disappear completely. We'll tell you honestly what to expect before we clean.

What if the urine went through to the floor underneath?

In rare cases urine soaks all the way through the pad into the subfloor. Cleaning alone may not fully fix that, and we'll let you know up front if that's what we're seeing so there are no surprises.

Can you remove pet odor from a couch, rug or mattress?

Yes. We treat pet odor in sofas, sectionals, chairs, area rugs and mattresses. We check the fabric or fiber first and choose a method that is safe for it.

Is it safe for my pets?

Yes. We use safe, eco-friendly products, and our low moisture carpet cleaning dries in a few hours. Once it's dry, your pets can get right back to it.

Why does the smell come back when it's humid?

Dried urine leaves salts behind that pull moisture from the air. When monsoon humidity hits, those salts get damp again and the smell comes back. Breaking down or removing the urine is what stops it.
